About Navajo Elementary
Navajo Elementary is located in Albuquerque's South Valley. Navajo is a rich community filled with tradition and sense of family. Navajo Elementary first opened in 1967 and was originally "a school with no walls". Originally Navajo was a building with pods of classrooms. In recent years Navajo has been reconstructed in phases with more still to come as we continue to work to become the top school in Albuquerque!
Navajo Elementary is a committed Title I School that works to utilize cooperative learning and experiential learning to create 21st-century learners as we prepare them for future success in college, careers and beyond. Some of our highlighted programs are Dual Language that follows a 90/10 model, proud CSI school working to become a true Community School, and being committed to our curriculums, mindset, and adopted work ethics.
Navajo Elementary's Mission
We will prepare students to become lifelong learners by meeting students' individual needs. Using evidence-based practices, we will foster an environment where our community can grow and adapt to a changing world.
Navajo Elementary's Vision
At Navajo, we will create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. We will be an evidence-based school using differentiated approaches to provide the opportunity for every student to succeed. We will collaborate using best practices, leading to rigorous academic instruction.
